Fields of engineering are closely related to applied sciences. Applied science is important for technology development. Its use in industrial settings is usually referred to as research and development (R&D). This discipline dealing with the art or science of applying scientific knowledge to practical problems. Technology includes the use of materials, tools, techniques, and sources of power to make life easier or more pleasant and work more productive.  Science is concerned with how and why things happen while technology focuses on making things happen.

The objectives of Mechanical Engineering Department are to produce graduates such that the students will be able to demonstrate:- an ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering an ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data an ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability an ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems an understanding of professional and ethical responsibility a recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning an ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice and research.

Electronics and Telecommunication

About Department
Cummins College of engineering for women, Nagpur has the objective to impart high quality education in Engineering and Technology to the younger generation with the required skills and abilities to face the challenges needed for the industry. The Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering have an annual intake of 60. The college is educating women, and in turns the society as a whole. The Department has well-equipped laboratories and provides excellent facilities for learning. The Department periodically organizes seminars, workshops and guest lecturers for the benefit of both the students and the faculties.

Computer Engineering

Computer engineering is an engineering profession which possesses the training of an computer science, but also has credentials related to the field of Electronics engineering. The combination of the basic engineering skills that are the province of all engineers with an extensive knowledge of software design and implementation provides the computer engineer with a skill set that is very attractive in the business world today.

The mission of the Computer Engineering Department is to produce graduates having competence, conscience, and compassion, who are prepared to excel in the field of computing, whether their objective is to enter the workforce or to continue for advanced studies.

Objective: To analyze, design, and evaluate computer systems, both hardware and software. To find themselves focusing on problems or challenges which result in new “state of the art” products that integrates computer capabilities. To work on the design, planning, development, testing, and even the supervision of manufacturing of computer hardware — including everything from chips to device controllers.
